Job Opportunities - Electrical Designer - Control Panels

 

Experience required:  Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience), and 1+ year of experience control panels for machinery.     

 

Job Description:  The role of person filling this job is to design, and test PLC based control systems.  The job involves use of Autocad to layout panels according to NEC guidelines, arrange I/O diagrams, machine electrical layout diagrams etc. 

 

The job includes the following responsibilities:

 

1.       Design Control panels using Autocad

2.       Develop bill of materials for control panels, and machine electricals

3.       Design brackets and fixtures for machine mounted controls

4.       Design the integration of peripheral equipment to control systems

5.       Development of electrical engineering standards

6.       Development of technical documentation including functional specs, and design specs.

7.       Correctly select and apply control components

8.       Develop and maintain schedules for work in progress

9.       Communicate, shared files, spreadsheet lists, and document files

10.    Review customer specification packages and evaluate and price solutions

 

 

Skills necessary:

 

1.       Experience in laying out control systems for machinery

2.     ACAD skills to make electrical drawings and panel layouts

3.     Work as part of a team toward common goals

4.       Familiarity with common Microsoft office projects including spreadsheets, Databases and documents

5.       Knowledge of the NEC, and common electrical practices

6.       Knowledge of electrical devices common in industrial settings

7.       Ability to communicate effectively and work with others

 

Travel requirements:

 

Must be able to obtain a passport, and be willing to spend up to 10 percent of available time in the field.  The majority of travel is in the U.S.
